Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Becoming a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt means you have mastered the Six Sigma methodology— a disciplined, data-driven approach for eliminating defects in any process.
In our Black Belt training, you will learn to how to collect data, understand data collection and analysis, root cause analysis and wastes in a cross-functional process, and then use advanced tools of Lean Six Sigma to drive wastes out of the process and to reduce process variation. More importantly, this training also enables the individual to become data/metric oriented, root cause analysis driven, team oriented and thus become more effective in working on, leading and supporting Lean Six Sigma project objectives linked to the profit and strategic objectives.
Attendees will revisit how to apply lean tools to reduce and eliminate wastes and the DMAIC methodology to reduce process variations and defects to achieve quantifiable bottom-line business improvement. They will also learn more advanced DMAIC tools and be introduced to key DFSS tools and concepts. Typically Black Belt projects spin off 100k$ in cost savings in process improvement. Those choosing to receive Black Belt certification, will also receive project coaching specific to a process improvement project that you bring to the course; one-on-one project review and coaching by the Master Black Belt.
The training will begin with a pre-training conference call to align the trainees to collecting baseline data and to develop the project charter by engaging the project champion, developing the process map or value stream map of the current process as-is. This will be followed by face-to-face training in two one-week sessions, over a period of two months. In the five weeks between sessions, you will apply the principles and techniques you have learned to your improvement projects.
Six Sigma Black Belt training will enable you to:
- Reduce defects
- Reduce costs
- Decrease cycle time
- Increase capacity and productivity
- Improve quality
- Increase profits
Who should attend:
Anyone involved in continuous improvement activities, including manufacturing engineers, process engineers, manufacturing managers, and continuous improvement managers. Traditionally Lean Six Sigma tools have been used in manufacturing, however these tools are used to improve any transactional, service or healthcare process.
Please Note: Students who seek Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification must attend all classroom sessions, implement an improvement project to the satisfaction of the project champion and the Master Black Belt trainer, and satisfactorily complete a written exam which will be given at the conclusion of the second week of training; and write a project report within 6 months of the conclusion of the training. Certification includes Master Black Belt instructor project coaching support and feedback as well as written exam fees. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a prerequisite for Black Belt training.
